Creating an install proposal from your CRM in the web app

How to create a design / build proposal for installs like patios, planted beds, retaining walls directly from Duranta's CRM view

Updated today

A proposal or estimate is a document that you send to a landscaping lead or client explaining what services you will perform and what prices you will charge. Examples of install services include pavers, patios, planted beds, retaining walls, plantings and many other design and build services.

1. In your CRM, search for a client or lead

2. Option A: Click on the client or lead

Click the + icon next to Proposals

💡Note: If the lead or client has no properties, click + Add property to enter an address.

Option B: Click on the ellipses (…) to the right of the client or lead record

Select “Create a proposal”

3. (Optional) Rename your proposal, otherwise you can do it later.

Click on Start

4. Add Install items

  • Click on + Install

Name your maintenance service. You can create a new service or select one from your favorites.

Select which type of Install you are doing:

  • Beds - use for planted beds, mulch pits, topsoil and other volume calculations

  • Plants - use for trees, shrubs and all other plantings

  • Turf - use for artificial grass plantings

  • Walls - use for retaining walls or fences

  • Surfaces - use for patios, driveways and other hardscapes

5. Once you select your install type, draw on the map

Beds and surfaces draw areas, walls draw lines, and plants are points

6. Name the install, and click on Add

💡Pro tip: this name will show up on your proposal, so we recommend something descriptive (e.g. planter bed, or entrance driveway)

7. Input your install price, your price margin, labor charge, and other details

Add more installs, fees or discounts

  • Repeat the above process for each service you want to offer

  • Add fees or discounts by tapping on the "+ Fee or discount" button.

  • You can select to apply flat or percentage-based fees on top of all the services you have selected.

💡Note: your price margin is how much profit you want to make on your material

💡(Optional) You can choose a positive or negative buffer to the amount of material by toggling on “Add extra material”

8. When done, go to Review and Send

  • Here, there are options for how the proposal will display.

  • Tap on Preview as customer in the top action bar to see your proposal before you send it.

Preview mode:

9. Send the proposal by email or copying a link to it

  • Copying or sending a link to the proposal will publish it to the cloud, where it can be opened and viewed by any of your customers.
