Use Proposal Templates to control how new proposals look in Duranta.
A proposal template saves the layout and design of a proposal, including the header, fonts, colors, spacing, and blocks. Services, fees, and prices come from the proposal itself.
What is a proposal template?
A proposal template is a reusable starting point for new proposals.
Templates help you set up the structure and design once, so each new proposal starts with the same look.
A template can include:
Header layout
Fonts and font sizes
Document colors
Page background
Content width
Section dividers
Spacing
Proposal blocks, such as headings, text, images, columns, pricing, fees, and maps
Templates do not store job-specific services or prices. Those are added when you build the proposal.
You can find proposal templates under Favorites → Proposals.
How many proposal templates can I have?
You can keep up to six proposal templates.
One template is marked as Default. This is the template Duranta uses when you create a new proposal.
If you try to create more than six templates, Duranta shows:
You can keep up to 6 proposal templates. Delete one to add another.
Create a proposal template
Go to Favorites → Proposals.
Click New template.
Choose how you want to start:
Create from scratch
Start from a ready-made layout
Edit the template as needed.
Save your changes.
When you create a template, Duranta shows this message:
Start from scratch, or from one of the layouts below. You can change everything about it afterwards.
Create from scratch
Choose Create from scratch if you want to start with a simple empty template.
This creates a template with the required proposal sections, including a services/pricing block and a fees block.
You can then add your own headings, text, images, dividers, spacers, columns, and map blocks.
Start from a ready-made layout
Duranta includes six starter layouts:

When you choose a ready-made layout, Duranta copies it into your templates as a normal editable template.
You can change everything about it afterward.
Manage proposal templates
In Favorites → Proposals, you can manage your templates.
Available actions include:
Set as default — makes the template the starting point for new proposals
Star / Unstar — keeps frequently used templates near the top
Duplicate — creates a copy of the template
Delete — permanently removes the template
Preview this template — shows the template with sample content in read-only mode
Default proposal template
The template marked Default is used automatically when you create a new proposal.
You can set another template as the default at any time.
The default template cannot be deleted. To delete it, set another template as the default first.
Duranta shows:
Set another template as the default first, then delete this one.
Edit a template
Open a template to edit it in the proposal editor.
Templates use the same block editor as proposals. You can add and arrange blocks such as:
Headings
Text
Images
Dividers
Spacers
Columns
Maps
Pricing block
Fees block
Pricing and fees blocks
Two blocks are special because they control where job-specific proposal content appears.
Pricing block
The Pricing block is where proposal services appear.
If the proposal has no services, this section does not appear on the customer-facing proposal.
Fees block
The Fees block is where proposal-level fees appear.
If the proposal has no fees, this section does not appear on the customer-facing proposal.
This keeps proposals clean and prevents empty pricing or fees sections from showing to customers.
Design settings
Use the Design tab to control how the whole proposal looks.
Design settings include:
Setting | What it controls |
Header | Logo and company information layout, or No header |
Typography | Body and heading typefaces and sizes |
Document color | Text color used across the proposal |
Page background | Background behind the proposal content |
Content width | Proposal content width on laptop screens |
Section divider | Hairline, Heavy rule, Dotted, or None |
Spacing | Compact, Comfortable, or Airy spacing |
Content width applies on laptop screens. On mobile, the proposal stays responsive.
Design settings and block formatting
Design settings apply across the whole proposal.
If you change a design setting, Duranta may reset matching custom formatting on individual blocks so the proposal stays consistent.
For example, if you set a custom text color on one block and later change Document color, the custom color may be cleared.
Set the main design first, then fine-tune individual blocks if needed.
Configuration settings
Use the Configuration tab to control proposal display settings such as:
Level of detail
Components
Item prices
Subtotals
These settings work separately from the template layout and design.
Use a template on a proposal
New proposals start from your default template automatically.
To change the template on an existing proposal, open the template picker on the proposal.
Duranta explains:
Swap the whole look of the proposal. Services and fees are kept.
When you swap a template:
Services and fees are kept
The footer is kept
The layout and design around them are replaced
Custom text, inserted snippets, photos, or extra blocks that were added directly to the proposal may be replaced when you swap templates. Save important reusable content as a snippet before changing templates.
When a template changes after you used it
If you edit a template after using it on a proposal, existing proposals do not update automatically.
They keep the version of the template they were created with.
If the template has changed, Duranta may show:
This template has changed since it was applied to this proposal.
You can use Re-apply template to update the proposal with the latest version.
Re-applying a template works like swapping a template: services and fees are kept, and the surrounding layout is refreshed.
If the template was deleted, Duranta may show:
The template this proposal started from has been deleted.
The proposal is not affected. It just no longer has a template behind it.
Use proposal templates on mobile
Proposal templates can be used on mobile.
In the mobile app, you can:
View the template list
See the Default badge
Star or unstar templates
Set a template as default
Duplicate templates
Delete templates
Create a new template from scratch
Create a new template from a starter layout
Apply or swap a template on a proposal
Re-apply a template when it has changed
Editing a template’s blocks is web-only. Build and edit the layout on a computer, then use the mobile app to manage and apply templates.
