Save the materials you buy and install often, such as mulch, sod, pavers or plants. You can then add them to services, installs and estimates without entering their prices again.
Add a material
1. In the left sidebar, select Favorites, then open the Materials tab.
2. Select +.
3. Enter the name of the material.
4. Choose the material type:
Type | Use it for | Priced |
Coverage | Bulk materials like mulch, fertilizer or stone | By area, volume or weight |
Plant | Individual plants and grouped plantings | Per plant |
Linear | Edging, pipe or border | Per foot, per 1,000 feet or per yard |
Block | Pavers or retaining wall blocks | Per block, with the block's length, width and height |
Flat | One fixed-cost material | As a flat fee |
5. Enter the Price you pay and choose the unit. For Coverage, choose an area unit, such as sq. feet or acres, a volume unit, such as cu. yards, or a weight unit, such as pounds. If you price by weight, also enter how much area one unit covers and at what depth.
6. To sell the material for more than you pay, select + Margin and choose how to add it:
Percent more: a percentage on top of your price.
Dollars more: a fixed amount on top of your price.
Gross margin: the share of the selling price you want to keep.
Customer price: the price your customer pays.
Duranta shows the selling price and the markup under the margin.
7. Under Adjustments, enter Add extra material to add a percentage for waste or overlap.
8. Select Save.
đĄ You can change the price, margin and extra material later when you use the material in an estimate. Changes there don't change the material saved in Favorites.
