When you draw or adjust a shape on the map, its outline is made of nodes, also called vertices or points, joined by straight edges. You can add, move and delete nodes to fine-tune a shape without drawing it again.
Use this when you edit lawns, beds, surfaces, lot lines or your own areas.
Draw a shape node by node
1. In the editing tools on the left of the map, open Draw and choose Node.
2. Click the map for each corner of the shape.
3. To close the shape, click the first node.
đĄ Choose Free in the Draw menu to trace a shape by dragging instead. You can edit its nodes afterwards.
Add a node
1. Choose Select in the editing tools, then select the shape. Its nodes and the midpoint handles between them appear.
2. Click a midpoint handle. A new node appears there.
đĄ Dragging a midpoint handle moves the whole edge instead of adding a node.
Move a node
Drag a node to its new position.
Delete a node
Hover over the node so it's highlighted, then press Delete or Backspace.
The node is removed, and its neighbors are joined by one edge.
A shape needs at least three nodes. To remove a whole shape, use Erase.
Save or cancel
Select Done at the top right to save your changes, or Cancel to discard them.
