Tap to Pay on Android does not appear
Check that:
Payments are enabled for your Duranta account
Your Stripe merchant account is verified and connected
You are using the latest version of Duranta
Your Android device supports Tap to Pay on Android
Your device has NFC
NFC is turned on
Location Services are enabled
Duranta has location permission
Device is not supported
Tap to Pay on Android requires a compatible Android device.
Your device may not be supported if it:
Does not have NFC
Runs an older Android version
Does not have Google Mobile Services or the Google Play Store
Has an outdated security update
Is rooted
Has an unlocked bootloader
Uses a modified manufacturer OS
Has Developer options enabled
Is an Android emulator
Try using a different compatible Android device.
NFC is disabled
Tap to Pay on Android requires NFC.
To enable NFC:
Open Android Settings.
Search for NFC.
Turn NFC on.
Return to Duranta and try again.
The NFC setting may be in a different place depending on the device manufacturer.
Location permission is disabled
Tap to Pay on Android requires location access to process in-person payments.
To fix this:
Open Android Settings.
Go to Apps.
Select Duranta.
Open Permissions.
Allow Location while using the app.
Make sure Location Services are enabled for the device.
Then return to Duranta and try again.
Developer options are enabled
Tap to Pay on Android may not work when Developer options are enabled.
To fix this:
Open Android Settings.
Search for Developer options.
Turn Developer options off.
Restart Duranta.
Try Tap to Pay on Android again.
The card does not read
Ask the customer to:
Hold the card closer to the tap area shown on the screen
Keep the card still for a few seconds
Try a different contactless card
Try Google Pay, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, or another digital wallet
Use another payment method if the card still cannot be accepted
Payment was declined
A declined payment can happen for several reasons, including card issuer rules, insufficient funds, or contactless payment limits.
Ask the customer to try:
The same card again
A different card
A digital wallet
Another payment method
Do not create duplicate charges. Confirm the payment status in Duranta before retrying.
Customer is asked for a PIN
Some contactless card payments may require PIN entry.
Let the customer enter their PIN privately on the secure PIN screen.
The PIN pad may appear off-center or in a different position on the screen. This is expected for security reasons.
PIN entry does not work
PIN entry may fail if the Android device is not in a secure state.
Check that:
Developer options are disabled
Screen recording is not active
No screen overlay apps are covering Duranta
The device has an active internet connection
If PIN entry still fails, ask the customer to try another card, use a digital wallet, or use another payment method.
Payment screen is slow to open
Make sure:
The device has a stable internet connection
Duranta is up to date
Location Services are enabled
NFC is enabled
The device is not in battery saver mode
The app remains in the foreground
Tap to Pay disconnected
Tap to Pay on Android may disconnect if the device loses internet connection, Android stops the payment service, or the app is moved to the background.
Return to Duranta, reconnect if needed, and try the payment again.
Can I use an Android tablet?
Yes, if the Android tablet is compatible.
The tablet must meet the Tap to Pay on Android requirements, including NFC support, Android 13 or later, Google Mobile Services, Google Play Store, a recent security update, and a secure unmodified OS.
Not every Android tablet has NFC, so some tablets will not support Tap to Pay on Android.
Can I use an Android emulator?
No. Android emulators are not supported for Tap to Pay on Android.
Use a real compatible Android device.
Can I use Tap to Pay on Android without internet?
No. Tap to Pay on Android requires a stable internet connection.
Can I use Tap to Pay on Android if Location Services are off?
No. Location Services and Duranta location permission are required for in-person payments.
Can I use Tap to Pay on Android with Bluetooth off?
Yes, Tap to Pay on Android does not require an external Bluetooth card reader.
Bluetooth may be required only if you are using a separate Bluetooth card reader instead of Tap to Pay on Android.
What should I do if Tap to Pay on Android still does not work?
Try the following:
Confirm the device supports NFC.
Turn NFC on.
Turn Location Services on.
Allow Location permission for Duranta.
Turn Developer options off.
Check your internet connection.
Update Duranta.
Restart the device.
Try a different compatible Android device.
