Payment declined or timed out

Ask the customer to try again.

Make sure they hold their contactless card, iPhone, Apple Watch, or digital wallet near the top of your iPhone and keep it steady until the payment is read.

If the payment still does not go through, ask the customer to try another contactless card or digital wallet.

You can also use another Duranta payment option:

  • Record Payment

  • Share invoice and send a payment link

The customer’s card cannot be read

Ask the customer to hold the card near the top of your iPhone and try again.

If the card still cannot be read, ask the customer if they have another contactless card, Apple Pay, or another digital wallet.

In Canada or other regions where fallback payment methods are required, some cards may not be able to complete contactless transactions using a PIN. If this happens, ask the customer to use another contactless card or digital wallet, or use another available Duranta payment option.

The customer is asked to enter a PIN

In some cases, the customer may be asked to enter a PIN on your iPhone screen.

Ask the customer to follow the instructions shown on the screen. Accessibility options may also be available on the PIN screen.
