An install estimate prices one-time construction work, such as patios, walls, turf, beds and planting.
Start an estimate
Start the estimate the same way as a maintenance estimate: on Home, select Estimate, choose the customer and property, name the estimate and select Start. See Creating your first maintenance estimate in the web app.
Then select + Install.
Choose the type of install
Choose a category on the left of the form:
Type | How it's measured |
Beds | Area |
Plants | Number of plants |
Turf | Area |
Walls | Length |
Surfaces | Area, for patios, paving, rock and similar work |
Draw the install on the map
Installs are drawn on the property map, because the price depends on the size and shape of what you build. Use the tools on the left of the map:
Tool | What it does |
Draw | Free draw traces the shape as you drag. Node draw places a corner at each click; click the first corner to close the shape |
Select | Select a shape to adjust it |
Erase | Remove part of the area you drew |
Duranta measures what you draw and shows it as the Area. Select the ? button above the tools for tips on drawing.
Add the install details
Type a name your customer will recognize, such as Front bed planting. Duranta suggests saved installs from your Favorites. Choose one to bring in its materials, or select Create new install to set it up yourself.
Under Components, select + Material. Search your saved materials, or type a new name, such as Bark mulch, and select Create. For a new material, enter the price and the depth. Duranta works out the volume from the area you drew and shows the cost. Select Save.
Add charges, such as labor or delivery, with + Charge. The install shows its components and the subtotal. Select Add.
đĄ Saved installs from Favorites â Installs bring their materials with them. See Create reusable installs in Favorites.
Review and send the proposal
The install appears in the estimate with its subtotal. Select Generate proposal to create the proposal your customer will see, preview it and send it, just like a maintenance estimate.
The Estimate pipeline on Home tracks the estimate through Draft, Sent, Opened and Approved.
