Oblique imagery shows a property in angled aerial photos, taken from the north, east, south and west. In Duranta these photos are called Diagonal views.
The standard property map looks straight down, which is ideal for measuring areas but can hide vertical features. Diagonal views show the property from the side, so walls, fences, slopes, building faces and access points are easier to understand.
Open Diagonal views
1. Open the property.
2. On the right side of the map, select Diagonals (the compass button).
The Diagonal views panel opens on the left with a preview for each direction, marked N, E, S and W.
The Diagonals button appears only when angled imagery is available for the property.
In Site Scanner, open a property from the project first, then select Diagonals on its map.
Fill the map with a view
Select one of the previews. The photo fills the main map area.
The direction tells you where the camera is looking. For example, North view means you're looking north toward the property.
While a view is open, its direction appears in the top-left corner, and its preview in the panel changes to a Map thumbnail.
Go back to the map
Use any of these:
Select the Map thumbnail in the panel.
Select X in the top-right corner of the photo.
Press Esc.
To close the panel, select X next to Diagonal views.
Change the capture date
The date at the bottom of the panel shows which aerial capture you're viewing. Select it to choose another date.
Duranta starts with the most recent capture. Older captures can show what a property looked like before landscaping, construction or other changes.
Step through more photos
Some captures include more than one photo per direction. A counter such as 1 / 9 appears next to the date. Use the arrows to move through the photos, and try another one if part of the property is cut off or hidden.
Views with no photo
If a capture has no photo from a direction, you'll see No image for this view. Not every flight captures all four directions, so try another capture date.
Measurements still come from the top-down map
Diagonal views are for inspecting a property, not measuring it. Because the photo is taken at an angle, objects farther from the camera look smaller.
Using Diagonal views doesn't change your property measurements, service areas, property boundaries or parcel boundaries. Measurements always come from the top-down map and Duranta's AI.
Where Diagonal views are available
Diagonal photos are taken from aircraft, so availability depends on the area:
Not every property has Diagonal views.
Coverage is usually better in cities and suburbs than in rural areas.
Some properties have several years of captures, others only one.
If no photos are available for a property, the Diagonals button doesn't appear.
