What is a proposal?
A proposal is a detailed estimate you send to a lead or client that outlines the scope of work, services, materials, pricing, and terms before the job begins.
How do I create a proposal?
You can create a proposal in several ways: from the Home page by clicking + Create new proposal, from the left navigation bar, from Clients → Proposals → Add a proposal, or from the lead or client details page.
What can I do on the map in a proposal?
You can:
Zoom in and out
Use the ruler tool
Adjust property boundaries
View and edit AI segments
Toggle layers (property boundary, AI segments, trees, services)
What is the AI map in a proposal?
The AI map helps you measure and define service areas using automatically detected property features.
Can I hide the AI map?
Yes. You can hide the AI map. When the AI map is hidden, the service areas and AI segments are also turned off.
What are AI map segments?
AI map segments are automatically detected areas of a property, measured in square feet, such as:
Lawn
Lawn (excluding trees)
Paved surfaces
Buildings
Beds
Hedges
Pools
Parking lots
Sidewalks
Ground
Trees
What happens when I select an area on the AI map?
When you click an area, such as Lawn, Duranta selects that service area and shows details like the number of segments, total area in square feet, and perimeter.
Can I edit or adjust an area on the AI map?
Yes. You can edit or adjust the shape of each area or segment on the AI map.
Can I reclassify an AI map area?
Yes. You can reclassify an area or segment as Beds, Buildings, Hedges, Lawn, Pools, Paved Surfaces, Trees, Parking Lots, Sidewalks, or Ground.
How do I create a proposal or service from the AI map?
If you are creating your first proposal, click Create proposal. If a proposal already exists, click Create service.
Can I toggle map layers?
Yes. You can turn layers on or off, including:
Property boundary
AI segments
Trees
Maintenance services
Install services
Ground layer
Can I adjust property boundaries on the map?
Yes. You can adjust the lot or property boundary directly on the map to match the area you want to service.
What tools can I use to adjust a property on the map?
You can adjust the property and map segments using:
Free draw for quick edits
Node draw for precise boundary adjustments
Erase to remove unwanted areas or segments
Can I create proposals for both leads and clients?
Yes. You can create proposals for both leads and clients in the same way.
What types of services can I add to a proposal?
You can add both maintenance and install services.
What are examples of maintenance services?
Maintenance services can include lawn mowing, edging, leaf cleanup, snow removal, bed weeding, mulch refresh, hedge trimming, seasonal cleanup, and irrigation check-ups.
What are examples of install services?
Install services can include beds, plants, turf, walls, and surfaces.
What can I configure for a maintenance service in a proposal?
For maintenance services, you can define the service area by entering a number, drawing on the map, or selecting AI-detected areas. You can also add materials and charges, configure a recurring schedule, minimum price, price rounding, and price margin, and save services to Favorites for reuse.
What can I configure for an install service in a proposal?
For install services, you can add a labor charge, set a minimum price, enable price rounding, and apply a price margin.
Can I add fees or discounts to a proposal?
Yes. You can add fees (such as delivery or disposal) or apply discounts to adjust the total price of your proposal.
How does the discount toggle work?
The discount toggle allows you to switch between applying a fee (adds to the total) or a discount (reduces the total).
Can I apply a flat amount or percentage fee/discount?
Yes. You can choose to apply either a flat amount (e.g., $50) or a percentage (e.g., 10%) to your proposal.
Can I set a frequency for a fee or discount?
Yes. You can choose how often a fee or discount is applied:
One-time
Daily
Weekly
Every 2 weeks
Monthly
Yearly
What does “Apply to each section” mean?
When enabled, the fee or discount is applied to each section of the proposal. When disabled, it is applied once to the overall total.
Are fees and discounts applied per service or to the whole proposal?
Fees and discounts are applied once at the end of the proposal total by default. If needed, you can turn on Apply to each section to apply them to each section instead. One-time fees are used for non-recurring services, while daily, weekly, every 2 weeks, monthly, and yearly options apply to recurring services.
Where do fees and discounts appear in the proposal?
Fees and discounts are included in the final total and appear at the end of the proposal.
Can I manage existing proposals?
Yes. You can search, filter, edit, rename, duplicate, archive, and delete proposals.
What can I do on the Review & Send screen?
On the Review & Send screen, you can view and finalize your proposal before sending it to a client. The proposal includes:
Maintenance services
Install services
Fees and discounts
You can also organize and customize the proposal content.
What is included in the proposal preview?
The proposal preview shows the full proposal as your client will see it, including services, sections, fees, discounts, text, and images.
Can I customize proposal details before sending?
Yes. In the Review & Send tab, you can adjust settings such as Information Density and Subtotal options.
Can I organize services into sections in a proposal?
Yes. You can drag a service to create a new section and organize your proposal into clear groups.
Can I add notes and images to a proposal?
Yes. You can add text, snippets, images, and photos from property notes to make your proposal more detailed and professional.
Can I use saved snippets in a proposal?
Yes. You can add snippets (saved text or images) to your proposal. Snippets can be created and managed in Settings → Favorites → Snippets.
Can I personalize a proposal with customer details?
Yes. You can use smart tags to automatically insert customer and account information into your proposal.
What smart tags can I use in a proposal?
You can use smart tags such as:
Customer first name and last name
Customer phone number and email
Customer account name
Property address
Current date
Your name, email, and phone number
Smart tags are filled in automatically if the information is available.
What happens if a smart tag has no data?
If the information is not available, the smart tag will not be filled in.
How can I send a proposal to a client?
You can send a proposal in several ways:
Email the proposal to one or multiple email addresses (mobile and web)
Copy and share the proposal link
Send a text message from the mobile app
Can I send a proposal to multiple recipients?
Yes. You can email a proposal to multiple email addresses.
