The AI map sorts everything on a property into categories. Duranta's AI model, AIdan, calculates the square footage, perimeter and the number of objects of Lawns, Trees, Bushes / Shrubs, Beds, Ground, Buildings, Fences, Surfaces, Muni sidewalks, Parking lots, Water and Driveways. Each category gets its own color and measurements, so you can review the site and build estimates from real numbers.
Ground layer and upper layer
Categories are grouped into two layers in the Service Areas panel:
Ground layer: the surfaces at ground level, such as lawn, beds, driveways and buildings.
Upper layer: things that sit above the ground, such as tree canopy and bushes. They can overlap a ground-layer area, for example a tree over the lawn.
Because trees can cover part of the lawn, Duranta shows two lawn values:
Lawn: all the lawn the AI found, including the parts under trees.
Lawn (excl. trees): the lawn without the parts covered by tree canopy. Use it for lawn services where the area under trees isn't mowed.
Ground layer categories
Lawn: grass or turf.
Beds: planting beds and garden beds with mulch, soil, plants or other ground cover.
Ground: bare earth or exposed soil that doesn't fit another category.
Buildings: houses, garages, sheds and other building footprints.
Fence: fence lines on the property.
Surfaces: hardscape such as patios, courtyards and other paved areas.
Muni sidewalks: public sidewalks along the street.
Parking lots: larger paved parking areas. You can also count the parking spots. See Count parking spots on the AI map in the web app.
Water: pools, ponds and other water features.
Driveways: driveways leading to buildings or garages.
Upper layer categories
Trees: tree canopy.
Bushes / Shrubs: single bushes, shrubs and groups of shrubs.
Gas Station Canopy: the roof over the fuel pumps at a gas station. It only appears if it's turned on for your account.
đĄ Some categories have new names: Paved surfaces are now Surfaces, and Pools are now Water. Older properties may still show Hedges. New AI analyses use Bushes / Shrubs instead.
Where you see the categories
On the map. Each category is a colored area on the map of a property or a Site Scanner site, with its total in the Service Areas panel. Select the eye icon next to a category to show or hide it. Select a category to see its segments, area and perimeter.
In the 3D view. Turn on AI segments in the Layers menu to show the categories on the 3D model. See Layers on the 3D map in the web app.
In estimates. When you add a service, you can choose a category as the Service area, so the price uses its measurement.
The categories also appear in Copy values, and in Site Scanner tables, map images and CSV exports.
