Every new Duranta account includes a starter catalog, so you can begin building proposals without creating every service and install from scratch.
What is already included in my account?
Open Favorites in the left sidebar.
New accounts include:
25 Services — maintenance and labor items such as mowing, trimming, fertilization, aeration, and snow removal
10 Installs — reusable install items for surfaces, walls, turf, and beds

The install type controls where the item is offered when you add an install to a property.
For example, turf installs appear with turf options, while wall installs appear with wall options.
Do starter installs include materials?
Some do.
These five starter installs include materials as components:
Paver Patio
Rock pebble installation
Retaining Wall
Sod Installation
Artificial Turf
They also include example material prices.
The remaining installs are labor-only steps that can be used as individual line items within a larger project.
Can I use the starter prices as they are?
Review them before sending a proposal.
The starter items include example labor rates to make the catalog usable immediately.
Most use approximately $60 per hour, while hardscape and snow-related work use approximately $75 per hour.
These are starting values, not recommendations for your market.
Your actual rates should reflect factors such as:
Labor costs
Crew size
Equipment
Market
Desired margin
Should I change the production rates too?
Review them as well.
Production rates describe how much area, length, volume, or quantity a crew can complete in an hour.
The starter rates are useful reference values, but your crews may work faster or slower.
What should I customize first?
A good first setup is:
Open Favorites → Services.
Update the hourly rates for the services you actually offer.
Remove services you do not use.
Adjust production rates to match your crews.
Star the services you quote most often.
Once updated, those settings are available when you build future proposals.
How are starter services priced?
You will see several pricing approaches.
Production rate
This is the most common setup.
You enter:
An hourly price
A production rate
Duranta uses the property measurement to calculate how much time the service should take.
For example, if String trimming is priced at $60/hour with a production rate of 1,750 linear ft/hour, then 3,500 linear feet equals approximately 2 hours of work.
Tiered pricing
Some services have several options based on the equipment or method used.
Choose the tier that matches how the work will actually be performed.
For example, Mowing includes tiers for:

Flat price
A flat-price service uses a fixed price rather than a property measurement.
Lawn Mowing is included as a flat-price starter service at $70 per visit, with a twice-monthly recurring schedule.
Materials as components
Some starter items include their materials as components.
When you add the item to a proposal, the service and its materials can be priced together.

Why are some tier prices the same?
Some tiers use the same hourly price but different production rates.
A larger or faster piece of equipment can cover more ground per hour, which changes the final price even when the hourly rate is the same.
You can adjust the hourly rate for any tier if a particular machine costs more to operate.
Are starter services the same for every new account?
Yes.
New accounts begin with the same starter catalog.
Each account receives its own copy, so any edits, price changes, or deletions affect only your workspace.
Can I edit or delete starter items?
Yes.
Starter items behave like normal Favorites.
You can:
Edit them
Rename them
Change their pricing
Change production rates
Add or remove materials
Delete them
I deleted a starter item. Can I restore it?
Not automatically.
Deleting a Favorite is permanent.
You can recreate the item manually or use a similar existing item as a starting point.
Why does Bark Mulch 2" Depth appear as both a service and an install?
They are set up for different workflows.
One is available as a maintenance Service, while the other is available as an Install.
Use the one that best fits the job.
The same applies to Screeding.
