For the full walkthrough, see Signature and customer choice on proposals.
Signature
Can customers sign a proposal in the Duranta app?
No. Customers sign proposals in their web browser using the proposal link you send them.
You can enable the signature requirement from the Duranta app, but the signature itself is completed on the proposal’s web approval page.
What is the difference between Draw and Type?
Draw lets the customer sign with a finger, stylus, or mouse.
Type creates a script-style signature from the name entered in Your name.
There is no separate field for typing the signature itself.
Both types are saved as an image on the approved proposal.
Why does the Type tab say “Enter your name above to generate a signature”?
The Your name field higher up in the approval panel is empty.
Duranta generates the typed signature from that name. The signature appears as soon as the customer starts entering their name and updates as they edit it.
Why does my customer see Draw first on a phone?
Both Draw and Type are available on all supported devices.
Phones and tablets open on Draw by default because it works naturally with a touchscreen.
Desktop browsers open on Type by default.
The customer can switch between the two at any time.
Can I mark a proposal approved myself when a signature is required?
Yes.
On the web, Mark as approved still works.
In the mobile app, Self-approve or Mark as approved can also be used.
The signature requirement applies to the customer-facing approval page. If you approve the proposal yourself, it is recorded as approved without a customer signature.
If you need the customer's signature as part of your records, have the customer approve the proposal using their proposal link.
What happens to the signature if I mark a proposal unapproved?
The signature is removed together with the approver's name and comment.
If the customer approves the proposal again later, they will need to sign it again.
Can my customer leave a comment without signing?
Yes.
A signature is required only when the customer is approving the proposal.
If they clear the approval checkbox, the signature section disappears and they can submit a comment without approving.
Does a typed signature count differently from a drawn signature?
Not in Duranta.
Both are stored in the same way as an image on the approved proposal.
Duranta does not record whether the customer used Draw or Type.
Customer choice
Why doesn't my customer see service checkboxes even though the setting is enabled?
The proposal may have only one Services & Pricing block.
Customer choice works when there is more than one block to choose between.
If you want the customer to choose between different parts of the work, place them in separate Services & Pricing blocks.
Can a customer choose individual services inside one block?
No.
Customer choice works per Services & Pricing block, not per service line.
Everything inside one block is approved or declined together.
Place services in separate blocks if you want the customer to be able to choose them independently.
Why does the total not change when my customer deselects a block?
The proposal is a fixed document, so the prices and displayed total remain as they were when you sent it.
Deselecting a block does not recalculate the proposal total on the page.
The customer's choices are recorded when they submit their approval and are used when you create an invoice afterward.
What happens if my customer deselects everything?
There is nothing left to approve, so approval becomes unavailable.
The customer can still submit a comment.
If a customer says they cannot approve the proposal, check whether they have deselected every available block.
Why do some services have no checkbox?
Services outside a Services & Pricing block are always included in the approval.
They cannot be declined individually.
Move them into a Services & Pricing block if the customer should be able to choose whether to purchase them.
Where can I see which services the customer approved?
There are two ways to open View activity:
From a proposal: Proposal → Review & send → Status menu (…) → View activity
From CRM: CRM → Proposals → (…) → View activity
Then select the latest approved version.
The approved document shows the Services & Pricing checkboxes exactly as the customer submitted them:
Checked — approved blocks
Unchecked — declined blocks
The activity feed itself shows only a count, such as approved 2 services, rather than the service names. The acceptance email also lists the approved services.
Does a partially approved proposal look different in the proposals list?
No.
It appears as Approved, just like a proposal where the customer accepted everything.
There is no separate partial-approval status in the web or mobile proposal list.
Invoicing and after approval
Does an invoice include services the customer declined?
No.
When you create an invoice from the proposal, only the approved services are added to the invoice draft.
Declined blocks are excluded.
On the web, creating a work order from the proposal works the same way.
Why does my invoice still show the old services after I edited the proposal?
Once a proposal is approved, invoices and work orders are created from the approved version rather than the current draft.
This keeps the invoice aligned with what the customer actually approved.
If the work changes:
Update the proposal.
Publish a new version.
Have the customer approve the new version.
Can my customer come back and purchase more later?
Not from the same approved proposal.
Publish a new version containing the additional work and send it to the customer for approval.
Can I edit a proposal after a partial approval?
Yes.
You can still:
Edit the proposal
Change settings
Rename it
Duplicate it
Archive it
Publish a new version
Revert to an earlier version
Changes made after approval do not affect an invoice created from the already-approved version.
Settings
Are Signature and Customer choice enabled by default?
No.
Both settings are off by default for proposals and proposal templates.
Do I configure them per proposal or for all proposals?
You can do either.
Configure the settings on a proposal template to make new proposals created from that template start with those settings.
You can also change the settings on an individual proposal.
Changing the template later does not update proposals that were already created.
What happens if I change a setting after sending the proposal?
The version the customer already received keeps the settings it was published with.
Publish a new version if you want the customer to receive the updated configuration.
