The property map includes drawing tools for editing existing shapes.
Use Scale to resize a shape from its edges, and Erase to remove part of a shape by drawing over it or placing points around the area you want to remove.
Where to find the tools
The same editing tools are available wherever you edit a shape.
Adjust a property boundary from CRM
Or select a service area, such as Lawn or Building, and choose Edit shape.
The editor opens with the property boundary selected, and the tools apply to that boundary.
Edit a service area in Site Scanner
Open a property in Site Scanner.
Select a service area, such as Lawn, from the list on the right.
Select Edit shape.
Or select a service area, such as Lawn or Building, and choose Edit shape.
The editor opens with the same tools, which now apply to the selected service area.
The tool menu includes:
Adjust
Scale
Free draw
Node draw
Erase
Undo and redo controls appear above the tools.
Done remains unavailable until you make a change. Select Cancel to leave without saving.
The same drawing tools are also available when drawing an install.
Scale a shape
Use Scale when you want to make an existing shape larger or smaller without redrawing it.
Open the tool menu and select Scale.
A box with eight handles appears around the shape.
Click and drag one of the handles to resize it.
💡 Hold Shift while dragging to keep the shape's proportions.
A shape has a handle on each corner and each edge.
Drag a corner handle to resize the shape from the opposite corner.
Drag an edge handle to stretch the shape in one direction from the opposite edge.
If an area contains several separate shapes, such as a lawn made up of several sections, each shape gets its own scaling box.
The hint at the top of the map reads:
Click and drag a handle to scale, hold Shift to keep the proportions
Dragging inside the shape, away from a handle, pans the map instead of moving the shape.
Scale a shape in the mobile app
In the mobile app, Scale appears next to Adjust on the Adjust lot screen and in polygon install editors.
Drag a handle to resize the shape from the opposite side.
Erase part of a shape
Use Erase when you want to remove only part of an existing shape.
Select Erase from the tool menu.
Choose Free or Node.
Draw over or around the area you want to remove.
Anything inside the erase area is removed:
Shapes are cut back
Lines are clipped where they cross the erase area
Dots inside the erase area are removed
Free: erase with a stroke
Use Free for quick, freehand removal.
Press and drag across the part of the shape you want to erase.
Node: erase with a polygon
Available in the web app only.
Use Node when you need a more precise erase area.
Select Node from the Erase menu.
Click to place points around the area you want to remove.
Right-click to close the shape.
Everything inside the completed erase area is removed.
Node is useful when you need a precise shape, such as:
Cutting a rectangle out of a lawn around a building
Creating a straight edge along a path
Removing a specific section without affecting the surrounding area
Use Free when a quick sweep is enough.
