Getting started
What is the widget key?
The widget key is a short code that tells Aidan which Duranta company it belongs to.
It is safe to use on a public website and does not give visitors access to your Duranta account.
Do I need a developer to install Aidan?
Not necessarily.
If your website builder lets you paste custom code into a page, you can usually install Aidan yourself.
If you don't have access to your site's code or editor, send the installation article or embed code to the person who manages your website.
Where the code goes
Do both lines of code have to stay together?
No.
The first line marks where Aidan should appear.
The script can be placed:
Directly after the first line
In your site's footer
In your site's header
If you place the script in the header, remove async.
Can I add Aidan to more than one page?
Yes.
Add the code to each page where you want Aidan to appear.
Add only one Aidan chat to a single page.
Why doesn't the chat appear?
Check the following:
The first line is in the body of the page where you want Aidan to appear.
Your widget key is correct.
Your site's content security policy allows
https://app.getduranta.com.If the script is in the header,
asynchas been removed.
Why is there a gap or why does the chat appear in the wrong place?
Aidan stays attached to the page block where it is loaded.
Place it in a normal page section.
Avoid blocks that move after the page loads, such as auto-advancing carousels, because the chat may remain in its original position.
Size
How wide is Aidan?
Aidan uses the width of the page block where it is placed.
To make it narrower, add a maximum width to the first line, for example:
<div id="aidan-widget" style="max-width: 480px;"></div>
How do I change the height?
Add data-height to the script line.
For example:
data-height="600"
The default height is 700px.
Why doesn't the custom height apply on my phone?
When a visitor starts typing on a phone, Aidan switches to full-screen mode.
The custom height is temporarily ignored until the visitor closes the full-screen chat.

Does Aidan work with Squarespace, Wix, WordPress, and Webflow?
Yes.
Use:

Existing installs
I already use the old iframe embed. Do I need to replace it?
No.
The older iframe embed continues to work.
If you want to upgrade, add the new Aidan script to the same page and use the same widget key.
What happens to my existing iframe when I add the new script?
The new script replaces the iframe in the same location.
It keeps the iframe's title, permissions, and existing height unless you specify a different data-height.
