Browser & WebGPU Support FAQ

Find answers to common questions about supported browsers, WebGPU requirements, and troubleshooting AI Map or measurement loading issues.

Which browsers does Duranta support?

Duranta supports modern desktop browsers, including:

  • Google Chrome

  • Microsoft Edge

  • Apple Safari 26+ (with MacOS 26+)

  • Mozilla Firefox

For the best experience and performance, we recommend using the latest version of Chrome or Edge.

What is WebGPU?

WebGPU is a modern browser technology that improves graphics rendering and AI-powered map performance.

Duranta uses WebGPU to help power advanced map and AI measurement features.

Does Safari support WebGPU?

Safari 17–18 includes experimental WebGPU support, but it is not fully enabled by default for all users and websites. Safari 26+ supports WebGPU by default.

How do I enable WebGPU in Safari 17–18?

  1. Open Safari → Settings → Advanced

  2. Enable Show features for web developers

  3. Go to Feature Flags

  4. Enable WebGPU

Which Safari versions support WebGPU?

  • Safari 15–16 → no usable WebGPU support

  • Safari 17–18 → experimental support (manual enable required)

  • Safari 26+ → full/default support

Why does Safari 26 show as supported, but WebGPU still does not work?

Safari 26 officially includes WebGPU support, but WebGPU may still depend on the macOS version.

In the confirmed case, WebGPU worked on macOS 15.7.7 (24G720) with Safari 18.6 (20621.3.11.11.3) after manually enabling the WebGPU feature flag in Safari settings.

After updating only Safari to Version 26.5 while keeping the same older macOS 15.7.7, WebGPU did not work as expected.

This means that updating Safari alone may not be enough. Even if Safari shows Version 26.5, WebGPU may not work unless the Mac is also running a macOS version that supports Safari 26 WebGPU at the OS level, such as macOS Tahoe 26.

Recommended workaround

Use Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Firefox on a desktop computer.

For Safari, update macOS to a version that fully supports Safari 26 WebGPU.

Does Firefox support WebGPU?

Yes. Recent Firefox versions support WebGPU, though support may vary depending on your operating system and hardware.

Which Firefox versions support WebGPU?

  • Older Firefox versions → limited or experimental support

  • Recent Firefox versions → improved WebGPU support and performance

Do I need to enable WebGPU manually in Firefox?

Some Firefox versions may still require enabling experimental settings manually.

You can check support by:

  • Opening about:support

  • Checking whether navigator.gpu is available in the browser console

Why does Duranta recommend Chrome or Edge?

Chrome and Edge currently provide the most stable and complete WebGPU support, which may improve:

  • AI map rendering

  • Property measurements

  • Graphics performance

  • Overall stability

What should I do if maps or measurements are not loading correctly?

Try:

  • Updating your browser to the latest version

  • Using Chrome or Edge

  • Enabling WebGPU (Safari/Firefox)

  • Refreshing the page

  • Restarting the browser

What should I do if I see the “Something went wrong” screen?

If you see the “Back to the shop” screen with the message “Something went wrong! We’ll be back up and running soon,” try refreshing the page first.

This usually goes away after refreshing the browser or signing out and signing back in.

Try these steps:

  1. Refresh the page.

  2. Sign out of Duranta, then sign in again.

  3. Fully close and reopen your browser.

  4. Use the latest version of Chrome or Edge for the best experience.
