Measure Tree Height on the 3D Map

You can measure the height of individual trees in the 3D Map. When you hover over a detected tree, Duranta shows a measurement card with the tree’s height, area, and perimeter.

How to measure tree height

  1. Open a property in Duranta Desktop Web.

  2. Stay on the map view.

  3. In the bottom-right corner of the map, click the 3D View button next to the Ruler.

  4. Wait for the 3D point-cloud map to finish loading. The status message in the top-left will show when it is ready.

  5. Make sure Trees is turned on in the layer controls.

    1. Segments (optional)

  6. Hover over any AI-detected tree.

A measurement card appears in the top-right corner showing:

  • Trees name

  • Area in sq ft

  • Perimeter in ft

  • Height in feet

Move your cursor to another tree, and the card updates automatically. Move your cursor away from trees, and the card disappears.

How tree height is calculated

  • For the best result, hover over the tallest visible part of the canopy to see the tree’s full height.

Tips

  • Tree height is shown in feet.

  • Height appears only for trees detected by Duranta AI.

  • If a tree was not detected, it will not show a height card.

  • Tree height is currently available in the web app only.
