Open Measure mode
Click Measure again to turn measurement mode off.
Draw a measurement
Click in the 3D view to place your first point, also called a node.
Keep clicking to add more nodes.
Each segment shows its length as you draw.
Finish the measurement as either an open line or a closed shape.
Measure a line
Use an open line to measure distance.
Open lines are useful for:
Fence runs
Edging
Walkways
Paths
Sloped areas
Property features that do not need an enclosed area
Open lines are labeled Line 1, Line 2, and so on.
Measure an area
Use a closed shape to measure an enclosed area.
To close a shape, click near the first node. Once the shape is closed, Duranta shows both:
Perimeter
Surface area
Closed shapes are labeled Polygon 1, Polygon 2, and so on.
Edit a measurement
Saved measurements are editable in the 3D view.
Move a node
Click and drag any node to reposition it.
Raise or lower a node
In the 3D view, you can raise or lower nodes to better follow slopes, elevation changes, or raised surfaces.
This helps make measurements more accurate when the property is not flat.
Click on a node and drag any of the arrow in its direction.
Add a node
Faint midpoint dots appear between existing nodes. Click one of these dots to add a new node.
Use this when you need to bend a line around a curve, obstacle, or property feature.
Undo and redo
Use undo and redo to step backward or forward through Measure changes.

Measurements are shared with the 2D map
Measurements are shared between the 2D AI Map and the 3D property view.
A measurement you draw in 3D appears on the 2D map. A measurement drawn with the Ruler in 2D also appears in 3D.
Editing 3D measurements on the 2D map
If you edit a measurement on the 2D map that was originally created in 3D, Duranta may show this message:
Replace 3D measurement?
This area was measured in 3D. Editing the shape recalculates the area from the flat map and replaces the 3D value.
Choose Replace only if you want Duranta to recalculate the measurement using the flat 2D map. If you want to keep the original 3D measurement with elevation, cancel and edit it in the 3D property view instead.
Clear measurements
Click the trash button to delete all saved measurements from the property.
This removes every saved line and polygon, so use it only when you want to clear all measurements.
Tips
Use the 3D Measure tool when elevation matters.
Use open lines for length.
Use closed shapes for area and perimeter.
Raise or lower nodes to better match slopes and terrain.
Measurements created in 3D are saved to the property and can also be viewed on the 2D AI Map.
