Measurement: FAQ

The Measurement flow lets you measure a property without creating a client or lead first.

Enter an address, confirm the property boundary, and Duranta analyzes and measures the site.

The Measurement flow skips the customer step.

When creating a proposal, you choose a client or lead first. With Measurement, you can measure the property first and add customer details later.

Yes.

You can add the customer details when you are ready and continue from the measurement into a proposal.

Measured properties appear in Clients, under the Properties column, so you can find them again later.

Duranta looks up the parcel boundary for the address and displays it on the confirmation page.

That boundary determines the area the AI analyzes.

Use Adjust lot to draw or reshape the boundary before confirming the property.

You can also upload a .kml file if you already have the property boundary from another system.

Parcel data can sometimes lag behind subdivisions, lot changes, or new construction, so review the boundary shown on the map before continuing.

Select each parcel that belongs to the property.

Duranta combines the selected parcels into one property boundary.

Use Change imagery source on the confirmation page to choose the aerial capture before creating the property.

The AI analyzes the imagery you select, so choosing a clear and current capture can improve the first analysis.

You can paste this information into a spreadsheet or another document.

Select the affected segments on the map and reclassify them to the correct category.

Duranta confirms how many segments were changed, and the correction is saved to the property.

You can draw custom lines and areas directly on the map.

Use the Ruler for custom distances and areas that you want to measure directly on the map.

You can use Show/hide measurements to control their visibility and Clear measurements to remove them.

A 3D measurement includes elevation and slope.

If you edit that shape on the flat 2D map, Duranta recalculates it as a 2D measurement and replaces the 3D value.

Duranta warns you first:

This area was measured in 3D. Editing the shape recalculates the area from the flat map and replaces the 3D value.

Yes.

Use Work Areas to create a measured area around one or more AI segments.

Select the segments, choose a distance, and Duranta creates an offset from them.

Re-run the analysis when you change something the AI depends on, such as imagery or AI settings.

Duranta shows a banner such as:

Select Re-run AI analysis to apply the changes.

Your current results remain unchanged until you re-run the AI analysis.

A re-run creates a fresh AI analysis of the property.

Review your reclassified segments and manually drawn shapes after the re-run to make sure they still match what you expect.

Add a client or lead to the measured property, then create the proposal.

The measured property areas can then be used for services and pricing without re-entering the measurements.
