How do I measure a tree's height?
Open the property and switch to the 3D view.
Make sure AI segments are visible.
Select the tree you want to measure.
Find Height in the segment details panel.
What does the Height measurement represent?
It shows the tallest point of the selected tree canopy above the ground directly beneath it.
Duranta compares the tree's top surface with the ground surface and reports the greatest height difference within the selected tree.
What units are used?
Tree height is shown in feet, rounded to the nearest whole foot.
Is the height for one tree or the entire Trees segment?
It is for the individual tree you selected.
A Trees segment may contain multiple trees, so Duranta calculates the height using only the selected tree shape rather than the entire segment.
Do I need to turn tree height on?
No.
The Height value appears automatically when you select a tree in the 3D view and the required 3D data is available.
Why don't I see a Height value?
Check the following:

Did you select a Trees segment? | Height is shown only for trees. |
Are AI segments visible? | Segments cannot be selected while they are hidden. |
Is the measuring tool active? | Turn it off before selecting a tree. |
Did you select the tree canopy? | Select the tree shape itself rather than the space between trees. |
Why does the 3D view look flat?
That property may not have 3D point data available.
Without elevation data, Duranta cannot calculate tree height.
Why do some trees have a height while others do not?
Duranta needs both:
A surface representing the top of the tree
Ground elevation underneath the tree
If the 3D scan does not contain enough information for a particular tree, Duranta does not show a height instead of estimating one.
Does tree height affect other measurements or pricing?
No.
Tree height is an informational measurement and does not change:
Segment areas
Service quantities
Proposal pricing
You can use it to help evaluate things such as equipment needs, access, reach, and the complexity of the job.
Can I see tree height in meters?
Tree height is currently shown in feet.
Is tree height measurement available on mobile?
No. Tree height measurement is currently available in the web app only.
