Accept contactless payments on your iPhone

With Tap to Pay on iPhone and a supported payment app, you can accept in-person, contactless payments right on your iPhone—no extra terminals or hardware needed.

Accepted card networks follow your connected payment account and may include Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.

  1. Open the Duranta app.

  2. Go to More → Duranta Payments → Set up Tap to Pay

  3. Tap Enable payments.

  4. Complete the secure in-app onboarding to verify your business. This is handled by Stripe and usually takes less than 15 minutes.

  5. When your account is approved, Duranta will notify you that Tap to Pay on iPhone is ready to set up.

Approval is not always instant. Verification may take additional time depending on your business details.

How customers should tap their card or phone

When the Tap to Pay on iPhone screen appears, present your iPhone to the customer. The screen will show where the customer should tap their card or device.

Contactless cards

Ask the customer to hold their card flat and horizontally on the tap area shown on your iPhone.

The card should stay there for a few seconds until the payment reads.

Apple Pay on iPhone

Ask the customer to open Apple Pay on their iPhone and authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or their passcode.

Then ask them to hold their iPhone near the tap area shown on your iPhone until the payment reads.

Apple Pay on Apple Watch

Ask the customer to open Apple Pay on their Apple Watch.

Then ask them to hold their Apple Watch near the tap area shown on your iPhone until the payment reads.

Other digital wallets

Customers can also pay with other contactless digital wallets.

Ask the customer to hold their phone, watch, or payment device near the tap area shown on your iPhone until the payment reads.

If a card cannot be read

  • Ask the customer to try again and hold their card or device near the top of your iPhone.

  • If the card still cannot be read, ask the customer to try another contactless card or digital wallet.

  • In Canada or other regions where a fallback payment method is required, some cards may not be able to complete contactless transactions using a PIN. If this happens, ask the customer if they have an alternative contactless card or digital wallet and continue the transaction using Tap to Pay on iPhone.

You can also use another available Duranta payment option:

  • Record Payment — Cash, Check, manually entered Credit Card, or Wire/ACH

  • Share invoice — Send a payment link by text, email, or copied link

Receipts

After a successful payment, Duranta can email the customer an invoice receipt when paid-invoice email notifications are enabled.
