Layers on the 3D Map

Show, hide, and inspect AI-detected property layers in the 3D map using geometry or LiDAR point views.

The Layers controls in the 3D property view let you choose what appears in the scene and how feature layers are displayed.

In 3D, property details are grouped into two main types:

  • Ground layers — lawn, ground, paved surfaces, and water. These are always shown as solid terrain surfaces.

  • Feature layers — buildings, beds, hedges, and trees. These are objects that sit on top of the ground.

The Layers controls help you show or hide feature layers, switch between solid geometry and LiDAR points, and view AI classification colors on the 3D model.

Open the Layers panel

  1. Open a property AI Map.

  2. Switch to the 3D property view.

  3. Click Layers in the bottom-right toolbar.

The Layers panel opens with controls for visibility and LiDAR point display.

Show features

Show features controls whether feature layers are visible in the 3D scene.
Feature layers include:

  • Buildings

  • Beds

  • Hedges

  • Trees

When Show features is off, those objects are hidden from the scene, leaving only the ground, lawn, paved surfaces, and water.

When Show features is on, feature layers appear again.

Default: On

Show geometry

Show geometry controls how feature layers are displayed.

Off: LiDAR points

When Show geometry is off, feature layers are shown as raw LiDAR points.

Use this view when you want to inspect the scanned point data behind buildings, beds, hedges, or trees.

On: Solid geometry

When Show geometry is on, feature layers are shown as solid 3D geometry.

Use this view when you want a cleaner, filled 3D model that is easier to navigate and review.

Ground layers are always displayed as solid terrain, whether Show geometry is on or off.

Default: Off

Segment classes

Segment classes overlays the AI map classification colors onto the 3D scene.

When turned on, Duranta adds a translucent color layer over the 3D model so you can see how the AI classified each area, such as lawn, beds, hedges, trees, buildings, bushes, shrubs, and other detected categories.

When turned off, the 3D model appears without the classification color overlay.

Default: Off

This control only appears when the property has an AI segment overlay available.

Quick guide

  • Show features controls whether buildings, beds, hedges, and trees are visible.

  • Show geometry controls how those features are displayed: solid geometry or raw LiDAR points.

  • Segment classes shows what the AI labeled each area as, using a translucent color overlay.

Tips

  • Turn Show features off to inspect the ground without buildings, beds, hedges, or trees in the way.

  • Turn Show geometry on for a cleaner 3D view.

  • Turn Show geometry off to inspect the raw LiDAR point cloud for feature layers.

  • Turn Segment classes on to compare the 3D model with the AI-detected categories from the 2D AI Map.
